Joan and Richard Brake were born in the late 1930s and lived in or around Bristol for most of their lives. They were an ordinary couple with three children and enjoyed a full and varied life. From the mid 1980s they intently followed their mutual spiritual pathways which culminated in the study and belief in the oneness of all life. 'Light the Way' is a book like no other. It tells of this like-minded couple in a long married relationship, parted by so-called death, and how their relationship continued in a most extraordinary manner soon after Joan's transition to the higher life. A two-way communication, probably on a soul level, started in letter form and still continues. This led to the main purpose of the book, a collection of beautifully written spiritual articles channelled by Richard from teachers on the 'other side' known as Joyful One. This book answers the age-old question 'Is there life after death?' with an emphatic 'yes' and ably demonstrates that all life is one. If you have ever mourned a loved one's passing, or feared that death of the body is the end of life, these pearls of wisdom will comfort and reassure you. If you are already on a spiritual path they will inspire and guide you, whatever your faith.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Richard Brake was born in 1936 and his earliest childhood memories were of the Second World War, a vivid one being of dogfights between British and German fighter planes over Bristol. He was educated at Bristol Grammar School where he particularly enjoyed the sporting activities but, nonetheless, still managed to pass his exams. Upon leaving school he worked for a builders' merchant before being called up for statutory National Service with the Royal Air Force. Most of this time was spent near Tripoli, Libya, and on one occasion he was called out to help fight locusts, which were threatening all the crops on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Again he enjoyed the sporting activities there and, indeed, his love of sport, mainly football, rugby and squash has been lifelong. Following retirement he turned to bowls. Most of Richard's career was spent in a commercial finance environment and involved negotiations with a wide variety of industries. He married Joan in 1958 and they had three sons. Their spiritual story began in 1983 following the tragic loss of their eldest son at the age of 21. This led to a spiritual search for the meaning of life and subsequently a quest for knowledge of ancient teachings and wisdom. They visited India several times and spent two months in the USA at an Academy for the study of A Course in Miracles. With Joan's passing in 2012 Richard gradually developed a gift of channelling which resulted in the publication of his book Light the Way in 2014. He follows this with Realising Spirit Within an account of their spiritual journey and experiences, including more channelled and inspirational words from his guides known collectively as Joyful One.
