Joshua Horgos grew up skating the streets of San Diego, CA. Public transportation and random house parties gave him a diverse outlook on life. He often found himself as the life of the party, creating eccentric memories that matched the colorful painted walls only visible from a plexiglass window. Drugs and alcohol had taken a firm grip on his life and he checked himself into a rehab center in North Hollywood, CA when he was 19 years old. Although sobriety was short-lived, he was on a mission to become an extreme sports movie star and he chased this dream all the way to the Pacific Northwest. Continued alcohol abuse delivered three DUII's and some very intimate conversations with God. He finally got sober in 2020; just months after joining a 'growth group' within his local church. He started listening to the voice in his head telling him to write and what started as a simple journal entry idea, actually became one of the first poems of this book, "Stumbled Some."Institutional education has allowed Joshua to understand specific triggers and emotions that were governing his actions and controlling his behavior. Helping people understand why they do the things they do and identify through their feelings the 'whys' and 'whats' of their mis-understandings, is a key element to decision making and the passion driving this book. His hope is that others will encounter the freedom that Jesus offers through the forgiveness of their sins; which is what helped Joshua get back on his feet, restore his hope, provide meaning, and give him a purpose for living.
