Carla Vergot fully intended to write books after earning her degree in English from North Carolina State University. Since graduating in 1990, she contributed to various newsletters and magazines, including a regular column in The Piedmont Virginian, all without writing a single book. In 2016, during a sabbatical from her career teaching special education, Carla returned to her true calling and authored her first novel, Lily Barlow Book One: The Mystery of Jane Dough. Carla never went back to the classroom and is currently living and writing in Northern Virginia.
