The purpose of this paper is to analyze the implementation of the Codes of Ethics in the municipal environment, to which effects the background that allowed its creation, its relation with the legal norms and the civil servant probity; and the perception that is had of the ethical behavior in the own civil servants will be reviewed. Mention will also be made of the experience of its application in other countries, its importance at the time of establishing and setting parameters that allow the officials of the different municipalities of the country to unify criteria in the performance of the acts or managements that they carry out in their usual work.
