The present investigation is an attempt to study the hydro-biological parameters, which includes documentation of meteorological conditions, physico-chemical parameters, primary productivity, zooplankton diversity and fish species of Nagral dam of Chincholli taluk, Kalaburagi district. The study was carried out for the period of two years from February 2016 to January 2018. The hitherto study describes the assessment of hydrochemistry, zooplankton diversity and fish fauna. However, indicate no pollution in the study area so far as the water quality studies are concerned. The study area and adjucent area to study area are rich in cement industries and mining. All the physico-chemical-parameters are with in permissible limit, notwithstanding a systematic investigation are recommended to monitor the hydrochemistry and change in the surface water, as well as sediment quality as both legal and illegal mining activities, intensifying in the nearby area. Based on the results of Shannon - Winner diversity index, it can be concluded that the greatest value of zooplankton diversity are the results of research, which shows the necessity of continuous monitoring of waterquality.
