This dissertation is part of the double field of art and information. It proposes an analysis of three main points, the narration of photography, the reading of photography and the relations between narration and reading. If we compare it with painting and cinema, photography appears not only as a technical transition in the history of art, but also as an independent art that has particular characteristics. Photography is composed of artistic narration and artistic reading. The author and the audience are at both ends of the photographic gesture; they decide on the expression and communication of photography.
