For this reason it is of great importance to highlight the potential of Mathematics as a field of research and the UNELLEZ must offer both teachers and students lines of research in this area that allow them to carry out studies in full correspondence with the specific problems in the different fields of action. In this sense, the present research had the objective of elaborating the Lines of Research in the Mathematics Area of the Vice Rectorate of Planning and Social Development of the UNELLEZ as well as to diagnose the current situation of the lines of research in the area of Mathematics of the Vice Rectorate of Planning and Social Development of the UNELLEZ. The study is framed in a field research, descriptive and special project.
