In order to tap the optimum benefit from the forestry sector, future scientific forest management should focus on silviculture based forest management, the necessary policy interventions and formulations and capacity building of both peoples and government officials prior to the scaling out of SFM. This book strongly recommends proper implementation of Irregular Shelter wood System for managing the existing degraded Sal forests of the Terai region of Nepal, however, its long term effects on plant species diversity should also be further studied in detail.
