Nepal's forestry sector in one way or another supports the livelihoods of millions of rural households. In this regards, scientific forest management (SFM), through a sustainable way, is an emerging need for managing existing natural forests of Nepal based on silvicultural intervention to support the vast majority of people. Thus, this book entitled "Linking Regeneration and Yield Status with Silvicultural Intervention " focused to find out the initial effects of silvicultural intervention on status of regeneration and yield in both Community Forest and Collaborative Forest Management managed under Irregular Shelter-wood System. In order to tap the optimum benefit from the forestry sector, future scientific forest management should focus on silviculture based forest management, the necessary policy interventions and formulations and capacity building of both peoples and government officials prior to the scaling out of SFM. This book strongly recommends proper implementation of Irregular Shelter wood System for managing the existing degraded Sal forests of the Terai region of Nepal, however, its long term effects on plant species diversity should also be further studied in detail.
