It is known from north-western Mexico, south-eastern New Mexico and south-eastern Arizona.The wingspan is about 85 mm. It is similar in pattern to Lintneria xantus, but structurally more similar to Lintneria lugens. It is smaller than both, the forewing is shorter and more rounded. The larvae have been recorded feeding on Salvia species. They are mottled white and grey-brown with a purplish tint.
