These filters, acquired through heredity, cultural life experience, and other sources, predispose us to see the world through the past rather than the present. "Twenty-six centuries after Buddha taught his philosophy, science has begun to recognize that much of what he taught supports their research. Psychologists are now confirming the concept of "No Self" and the fact that "I" and "Me" are constructs of our minds. There is no "mini-me or self in our minds controlling our actions. Instead, there are thoughts generated by experience and genetic code. Once we can identify these thoughts by listening, we can make decisions based on present conditions. Autorenporträt
James R (Jim) Martin is an Emmy award-winning director, writer, and producer of film, television, video, and multimedia. He is the author of several nonfiction books. Professor Martin taught film and video production at Columbia College Chicago for thirteen years. He was course director of the documentary course at Full Sail University for twenty years and taught directing at the University of Central Florida for one year. He has made independent fiction and nonfiction feature and short films.
