This research is the result of a case study, analyzing data collected in a public school in the city of Riacho dos Machados, Minas Gerais. The research sought to understand teachers' interpretation of Literacy and Literacy in the BNCC. Interest in the study arose from the experience of a student who, when reading, was unable to understand what was being read. General objective: To understand the perception of 2nd grade teachers in relation to literacy and literacy in the BNCC. Specific objectives: To analyze literacy and literacy in accordance with the BNCC; to verify whether 2nd grade teachers have used the BNCC to plan literacy and literacy; and to observe whether the methodologies used by teachers to teach literacy and literacy are in accordance with the BNCC.
