Produktbeschreibung
In today's world, the need for electrical energy is constantly increasing. Both households and industries require large amounts of power. Thus, the concern about non-renewable energy sources and comprehensive management of them is certainly justified. For that matter, many communities are placing greater emphasis on energy acquisition from clean and sustainable sources. Hence, significant efforts have been made in searching for reliable and efficient electrical energy storage (EES) technologies. Of all available systems in the field of energy storage, the lithium-ion batteries (Li-ion, LIBs) appear to be one of the most successful as they provide high specific energy, high voltage, lightweight design, improved efficiency and longer cycle life than comparable rechargeable battery technologies. Despite great success in the implementation of existing materials in Li-ion batteries there is still a strong initiative to create new compositions. The scale of products and industries which LIBs affect shows how valuable discoveries and advances in this area will take place in the future.
Autorenporträt
All authors are members of Technology of Materials and Nanomaterials Research Group which operates within the Faculty of Chemistry at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. The research of the Group focuses on the development of new technologies for the synthesis and funcionalization of materials dedicated for Li-ion energy storage systems.
