Autorenporträt
My name is Nick and I wrote the book 'Little Book of Big Silliness'. I came up with the idea whilst on paternity leave with my son during the year of 2020. I am a primary school teacher and have been for 10 years now. I took a lot of inspiration for the characters in the book, from my younger years growing up in East Africa, in Kenya. The actual picture of the boy sitting on the rhino was me as a 2 year old, when I was fortunate enough to sit on a wild white rhino in a game reserve in Kenya. I have a real passion for wildlife and conservation, and always have. My son is following in my footsteps. His favourite animal is the giraffe, along with his cousin Monty. All of the characters in the book are named after people in my life in some way or another. I moved from the UK to Australia in 2008. I have lived most of that time in Melbourne. I have already written my next book, which will feature some of the beautiful Australian native wildlife. The illustrations of the book were done by a close friend of mine called Paul Nash. He has such amazing talent. Paul illustrated each of the pages exactly how I envision them to look. A big credit to him as the book wouldn't be the same without his beautiful work. I would also like to say a special thank you to my sister-in-law Helen, and my partner Jane, who both helped with some of the final details. Also, a big thank you to one of my students who helped to bring the the definition page at the back of the book to life. Lastly, I would like to say a bit thank you to you, the audience, for talking the time to read this biography. I hope you choose to purchase the book and help share my story, educating the future generations in a fun and silly way. I dedicate this book to my son Addy on his second birthday.
