Vivienne Brookes, born 1950, grew up in Sale, Cheshire. When she was first asked what she wanted to be, with confidence she replied "an author". However, growing up with dyslexia in the 1950s she felt she was never taken seriously. Regardless, it remained a life ambition to write a book and we are blessed that she has shared her stories with us. These stories have lived in our home for a long time, being told from memory to all the children in the family, until Vivienne finally put pen to paper for her great nephew Daniel. We are forever grateful to have her words in this book for all children to enjoy.Vivienne has always known who she is, throughout her life she has expressed her creativity through floristry, drawing, painting and storytelling. The original naughty child, who became the little old lady in the little house up the little hill.
