Pottery is one of man's oldest art form and it has helped in the improvement of the society significantly, however majority of Ghanaian potters are not known neither are they documented. It is therefore important to study about some of them in order to build a legacy of remembrance and encouragement for others. This work identified two indigenous and four studio Ghanaian potters and described the life and works of each of them. Three works each of the potters (samples) were appreciated. It was discovered that in Ghana indigenous potters are mostly women. They rely on taboos as well as traditional methods and techniques of production while the studio potters and the ceramicists use both local and foreign materials, techniques, machinery and ideas, customs and proverbs to set up their purpose and titles in the production of their wares.
