Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574) was a Florentine architect and painter; in addition to his great Lives, his best-known works are the frescoes in the Palazzo Vecchio. Carlo Ridolfi (1594-1658) was an Italian writer and painter; his biography of Venetian painters is one of the seminal sources on Renaissance and Baroque Venetian painting. Marco Boschini (1605-1681) was a Venetian painter, restorer, and art dealer. Isabella d'Este (1474-1539) was the Marchioness of Mantua and one of the leading art patrons of the Italian Renaissance. Davide Gasparotto is senior curator of paintings at the J. Paul Getty Museum and the editor of Giovanni Bellini: Landscapes of Faith in Renaissance Venice (Getty Publications, 2017).
