Prepare the way of the Lord! This is the cry of Lent. For forty days (not including Sundays) from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday, we prepare for Easter. Lent invites us to make ready our hearts for remembering Jesus' death and resurrection. Prepare the way of the Lord! This is the cry of Lent. For forty days (not including Sundays) from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday, we prepare for Easter. Lent invites us to make ready our hearts for remembering Jesus' death and resurrection. Lent encourages us to draw nearer to Him, as we choose to participate in intentional prayer, service, and generous giving. Lent begs us to make more room for Jesus in our busy lives. And so, we pray, we serve, we give. And day by day, we prepare our hearts for the rich celebration of Easter. Living Lent 2024 is a devotional series created by and for Morningstar Children and Family Services, a ministry which provides residential and counseling care to Georgia's special need foster children. This year, we have returning and new authors from across Georgia, each sharing words of reflection on the daily reading, which parallel The Revised Common Lectionary. Additionally, each Sunday we share some of the challenging facts regarding child welfare and the lives of all foster children, as well as highlights of Morningstar Children's Home. We ask you to pray with us week to week for the specific needs of the children and the many people involved in their care. Thank you for joining us on this Lenten journey. Our prayer for you is that these days together become a time of preparing well. A time where we make room for something good, something better, something life-giving from the God who came and gave all for us.
