Dental implants have undoubtedly been one of the most significant scientific breakthroughs in dentistry over the past 30 years. Initial implant stability, implant surface characteristics, bone quality, bone healing, interim prosthesis design, and occlusion pattern during the healing phase have been identified as influential factors in successfully achieving osseointegration of implants. Several randomized controlled trials and reviews have demonstrated the impact of modified loading protocols on success of implants.
