The teaching-learning process of Local History is a prioritized objective in basic secondary education, however, in pedagogical practice it is revealed that on numerous occasions ninth grade students present deficiencies in this component. In order to contribute to the solution of this problem, it is proposed the inclusion of a system of exercises graded by levels of assimilation for the treatment of Local History in ninth grade. It is based on philosophical, psychological, pedagogical and didactic principles and categories. The research was supported by methods of the theoretical level such as: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive, historical-logical and functional structural systemic; of the empirical level methods and techniques such as: observation guide, pedagogical test, analysis of the activity product, survey, document analysis and the experimental method in its methodological variant of pre-experiment, of the mathematical-statistical method: percentage calculation. The evaluation of the proposed system of exercises showed that it was effective because it made possible the treatment of Local History in ninth grade.
