Each year, we hear sad stories that many domestic pets are being abandoned or maltreated by their owners. The ones who are lucky enough to survive and are rescued are taken into care and looked after at animal sanctuaries all over the country, and new homes are actively sought for these animals. The sanctuaries are charitable organisations and the people who look after the sanctuaries are dedicated because of their love of animals and their wellbeing. I would like to thank Croydon Cat Rescue Sanctuary for the work they undertake that has influenced my novel and, indeed, also the kind, caring sanctuaries around the planet. Lola's Story is Edward's debut novel, and Part 1, The Tale of Two Cats, tells the story of the survival of Lily and her young kitten named Lola, abandoned by a cruel owner, which is described as a moving, entertaining and gentle tale of a search for hope amid struggle that highlights the importance of saving memories. Part 2, The Tale of the Kidnapped Cat, takes off from where we left you last time. This time, we embark on an epic journey filled with danger and peril, and with the help of a gang of trusty volunteers, we make our way through a strange and uncharted land on a mission to rescue a cat that had been kidnapped by a litter of unruly alley cats. With little time to spare, the rescue team must move swiftly and effectively if they are to succeed! Packed full of adventure, suspense and humour, this is a charming and heart-warming tale in the adventures of Lily and Lola. The story is told through the eyes of Lola.
