Long Distance is a song by American singer Brandy, written by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, Jeff Bhasker, Philip Lawrence and Bruno Mars, and co-produced by Jerkins and Mars for her fifth studio album Human (2008). The lyrics of the ballad deal with the protagonist's difficulties of a long-distance relationship. The ballad was premiered on October 3, 2008 (see 2008 in music} via Pittsburgh radio station WAMO and released as the album's second and final single on October 15 to U.S. radios, with an alternate remix being serviced to mainstream radio in February 2009. Never released outside North America, "Long Distance" failed to enter the Billboard Hot 100, but peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, and at the top spot on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. An accompanying music video was directed by Chris Robinson.
