More than ever in our fast-paced world, our children need to take time to slow down and live in the moment. What if they took the time each day to take in the world around them? The soft fur of a kitten, the smell of fresh rain, the voice of a loved one - all of these things hold magic within them if you stop, breathe deep, and pay attention. Look for the Magic takes us on a journey of discovery as we take full notice of the objects in nature as well as the experiences around us in order to see the peace and beauty inside each and every one of us. Why is this important? You might want to ask. Because appreciating life, Is really our task. In a fast-paced and sometimes confusing world, today's youth need a way to tune into themselves which in turn helps them better understand social and emotional skills. Mindfulness is being aware of what is going on in the here and now. This includes the sounds, sights and smells of the world around us, but also our feelings and the sensations of our bodies. The soothing rhythm of the rhymes, colorful illustrations, and the mindfulness practice of maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of all that surrounds and lives within us ultimately invites children (and adults too) to take a moment and really listen to what the universe is trying to tell us. Written by a mental health therapist who understands how powerful mindfulness can be for children. This uplifting book embodies the message of compassion for ourselves and others through gratitude, self-empowerment, living in the moment, and appreciating nature.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.

Autorenporträt
Jamie Chin is a mental health therapist by day and a writer by night. She earned her master's degree in psychology and works as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at a community college. As a therapist, mother, and writer, her days are filled with caring for others, running an online business, and helping young college students transition into adulthood. Jamie strongly believes in the power of reading and its effects on young children's minds. Books help children have adventures they might have never had, and stories like this one, can help build their self esteem and self agency. Her inspiration for her first book, Dear Daughter, comes from her own two daughters. She wrote it as a love letter to them and hopes that this book can be used by other mothers who wish to express their unconditional love for their daughters. When she isn't writing, she's enjoying nature, obsessing over dogs, or watching Netflix in her sweatpants. She lives with her husband of 25 years in Northern California. Jamie is only beginning her writing career, so be on the lookout for her next children's tale, Look for the Magic!
