José Zoilo Hernández (Tenerife, 1977) es un biólogo de profesión que trabaja en el ámbito de la agricultura y el desarrollo rural. Aunque su labor profesional ha discurrido por el campo de las ciencias, es un auténtico apasionado de la Historia desde muy temprana edad. El alano fue su primera novela y con ella inició la épica trilogía, «Las cenizas de Hispania», una apasionante recreación de la Hispania tardorromana. Niebla y acero fue la esperada continuación.
