Olafur Eliasson has said that we are bearing witness to a change in the traditional relationship between reality and representation. We are no longer evolving from model to reality, but rather from model to model, at the same time as we recognize that both models are real. As a result, he said, it is possible to work very productively with reality experienced as a conglomerate of models--in essence, models have become co-producers of reality. Olafur Eliasson
