Miguel Ángel Martínez Pozo, maestro de profesión, posee "Máster en Investigación en artes, música y educación estética" y es doctor en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales por la Universidad de Jaén en el programa de Patrimonio. Pertenece al Centro de Estudios Pedro Suárez de Guadix y es Asesor Cultural de la UNDEF (Unión Nacional de Entidades Festeras). De entre sus obras destacaremos los dos volúmenes "Fiestas de moros y cristianos en la comarca de Baza" (2008-2009), "Moros y cristianos en el mediterráneo español. Antropología, educación, historia y valores" (2015) con la que obtiene reconocimientos internacionales desde Filipinas, Perú, Ecuador, Brasil, México pero, especialmente, desde la Comunidad Islámica de Hispanoamérica en El Salvador y desde la Facultad de Estudios Andalusíes así como "Cascamorras. Antropología, historia, tradición, leyenda y valores" (2017). Además de numerosos artículos en diferentes revistas nacionales e internacionales de impacto también ha realizado diferentes publicaciones desde un punto científico y didáctico. En el 2020 gana el Premio Memorial Blas Infante con su obra 'Andalucía, tierra de Moros y Cristianos', que es publicada por Almuzara en el 2021.
