Autorenporträt

Nacida en 1939 en Ottawa (Canadá) y licenciada en la Universidad de Toronto, Margaret Atwood es una de las escritoras más prestigiosas del panorama internacional. Autora prolífica y traducida a más de cuarenta idiomas, cuenta con muchos volúmenes de poesía, numerosas colecciones de cuentos, la colección de ensayos titulada La maldición de Eva, los volúmenes de cuentos Érase una vez y Un día es un día y dieciocho novelas -entre las que cabe destacar Nada se acaba (1979), que Lumen publicó en 2015, El cuento de la criada (1983), convertida en una serie de televisión de mucho éxito, La novia ladrona (1994), Alias Grace (1996), El asesino ciego, que en 2000 ganó el prestigioso Premio Booker, La semilla de la bruja (2018) y Los testamentos (2019). Ha recibido, entre otros, el Premio Príncipe de Asturias de las Letras, el Governor General's Award, la Orden de las Artes y las Letras, el Premio Montale, el Premio Nelly Sachs, el Premio Giller, el National Arts Club Literary Award, el Premio Internacional Franz Kafka y el Premio de la Paz del Gremio de los Libreros Alemanes.
