Lost and Found is a wondrous collection of 31 poems written by new author Mary Helms in the year and a half since she learned she has ALS and would soon be unable to speak. Poetry has become her new voice, one that speaks up - with humility and authority, with insight and courage, about despair and empowerment, resilience and joy, of love and fear, of humor and faith. These poems paint a portrait of a whole life, of what it means to be human.

Autorenporträt
Mary Helms used words to build her big life and her successful career, mostly words as she spoke them. Lost and Found is her first book of poems, actually of anything. She thanks people who read her poems aloud with a wide smile and sparking eyes, a pat on their hearts and hers, and hugs. She delights in the sounds of her poems. Mary was diagnosed with ALS in early 2017 and was soon unable to speak. She lives in Rehoboth Beach DE and seeks out the sound of the ocean's waves crashing onto the beach.
