Ihre Geschichten, die oft in dystopischen und psychologisch komplexen Welten spielen, beschäftigen sich mit den dunkelsten Ecken der menschlichen Psyche, den Auswirkungen von Macht und Verrat sowie der Frage, was es bedeutet, sich selbst zu verlieren und wiederzufinden.Eisenwald wuchs in einer eher beschaulichen Umgebung auf, jedoch war ihre Kindheit von einem ständigen Wechsel zwischen verschiedenen Städten und Regionen geprägt, was ihr ein Gefühl der Entfremdung und des Ungehörens vermittelte.
