Autorenporträt

During his career as a Town Planner he has developed a great interest in local history, historic buildings and especially how an area changes over time. He is a tour guide for Newcastle City Guides, Tyne & Wear Museums, the National Trust and English Heritage. In his leisure time he has became an active member of Wallsend Local History Society and over the years has given talks, guided tours and written books on his hometown of Wallsend. He has lived and worked at the coast for over 20 years and following his retirement he has been an active volunteer with a number of organizations linked to the promotion of the north east's heritage. These include the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, Segedunum, Arbeia and Housesteads Roman forts on Hadrian's Wall, Seaton Deleval Hall and Newcastle City Guides.
