Queerness has been a political issue around the world for decades, if not centuries, and the weight of our identities being politicized continues to increase for queer and trans people. It can be debilitating and frightening that our identities are being pointed out, tossed around, and vilified by voices that don't seem to be talking to our community or actually attempting to understand us. It is frustrating and minimizing to have our rights and existence questioned by lawmakers who are talking about us rather than to us. It's like being in the middle of a conversation that you aren't allowed to participate in. This zine will exist as a space for all of our thoughts, feelings, responses, fears, rebellions, and fights that are living with us in this political moment. The first issue of this zine was released in early 2017 to create a space for queer voices no matter how the political climate or outside world was trying to silence us. Issue 22 will return to those roots, ensuring that we will always be heard, LOUD & QUEER! >Featured in this issue: America is where the owners live Leo Rose Rodriguez (they/them) Poetry Primal Scream, Apathy, The Renaissance of ROE, Anam Cara Jamie Corry (she/her) Painting Status Quo Bah Humbug Sally Arizona (she/her) Poetry Trashcat Eerie (I accept any pronouns) Running in Slow Motion et al Jim Kellogg (he/him) Poetry Gotta Rewind Myself Paul David (he/him) Music Lose-bian Hope McGuire (she/her/hers) Short Story
