He, too, eventually falls in with a Korean/Japanese woman and learns a lot about life, love, and sex. He loved his wife with no reservations. He wanted to prove at some stage what he is capable of sexually. He was waiting for the right time. It is to be noted that both of the professor and his wife do not discuss things face to face. Eventually, they start to communicate through the diaries they both maintain. They both read each other's diaries on a regular basis, but they pretend they knew nothing about the existence of the diaries, even whilst learning a lot about their spouse's feelings, emotions, opinions, and ideas.
