In "Love in the Time of Pablo Escobar," Leonidas Rendón immerses us in a gripping, adrenaline-filled thriller. The story follows Silvia, a young woman who, after being displaced by violence in Colombia, finds herself trapped in a world of prostitution and drugs. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she attends a Medellín Cartel party and becomes pregnant with Pablo's child. The plot thickens when Pablo's wife Carolina discovers the pregnancy and sends hitmen to eliminate Silvia and the baby. However, Pablo, determined to protect his son, also sends his own commando to save her. Unaware of Pablo's intentions, Silvia flees to Spain in search of a better life, only to discover that the tentacles of the cartel have followed her there. Rendón weaves an intense and emotional narrative, where love and survival intertwine in a deadly game of chases and secrets. With complex characters and a plot full of unexpected twists, this novel will keep you on the edge of your seat, eager to discover the fate of Silvia and her son. A must-read for lovers of thrillers and stories of survival in dark times. In the early 90s, the author witnessed the violence of Pablo Escobar. Every day, when he drove to his office on the 13th floor of a building in downtown Medellín, he watched from his car the destruction caused by the bombs of the night before. At night, because he always worked late, he saw the explosions in the distance, heard the gunshots in the street or felt the trembling of the building because of a bomb activated on the first floor. That's where this story was born.
