Ever since my retirement from the Edmonton Police Service, January 8, 2014, I would often pray and inquire of my Precious Saviour Jesus Christ, what is His will and His purpose for my life. Often times after praying, my mind would be filled with words that I would quickly write down and to my surprise it would be in the form of poetry. Prior to this I had never written or delved into poetry. This book is a small portion of what I have written since the beginning of 2014. I can truly say that everyone wants to love and be loved. Some of the poetry that is captured in this book is from my own experience and what I have observed in my family and friends. We each have our battles in life and the love that stands the test of time emerges from the Battlefield of Love.

Autorenporträt
My name is Halcourth Delando O'Gilvie. I was born on the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica and immigrated with my family to the welcoming country of Canada in May 1974. The last 40 years of my life have primarily been spent living in the City of Edmonton, Province of Alberta. I graduated from Ross Sheppard High School in 1984, then attended the Business Administration Program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, graduating with a diploma in Business Administration. One of my major life's accomplishment was becoming a member of the City of Edmonton Police Service (EPS). Through my 14-year tenure with EPS, I gained valuable life lessons which I have incorporated into my life's journey. Over the past 20 years I have been visiting my birth land of Jamaica on a regular basis and in all honesty, I truly love this land. The vast amount of poetry that flows through my mind, occurs during my visits to Jamaica and while I pray at night. My prayer is that these written words will be of comfort and inspiration to the reader. I am truly Blessed from My Heavenly Father and I want to be a Blessing to each and every individual I encounter on a daily basis. Stay safe. Nuff Love Always.
