V.B. Chisholm (Belle Chisholm/Vera Akomah) is a retired senior non-commissioned officer with thirty-two years of active military service in the Woman's Army Corp (WAC), US Army, Army Reserves, and the Federal Civil Service. Belle and her three siblings were raised by their grandmother, aunt and two uncles in Charlottesville, Virginia. After graduating from high school she enlisted during the Vietnam War in the Woman's Army Corp (WAC) and then the United States Army. She is a veteran of three wars, Gulf, Iraq Freedom and Afghanistan. She currently resides in Round Rock, TX with her husband Chris and her crew - Asia, Diego, and Q-Tip and her extended family - as she enjoys her retirement and continues her work as a writer and novelist.
