About the Author Leon Robert Walker Jr, hails from East Cleveland, Ohio. He joined the Navy in June of 1983, and served for Thirty-two years, he retired in August of 2015. Leon is a father of three young adults, ages 25, 24, and 20. He is also a Godfather of four. A retired Naval leader, of thousands of young men and women, Leon served on five ships, and sailed the seas for fifteen years. During his military career, Leon performed well in many jobs; A Navigation Instructor, Naval recruiter, and Recruit Division Commander (Drill Sergeant), ultimately serving as a Command Master Chief for eight years. A traveler throughout the world, Leon infuses his experience with friendships and relationships into Loveship! Through his journey, book tours, podcast, radio and television interviews, Leon talks extensively about his severe PTSD and becoming an advocate of not only improving life, but marriages as well. Although his drug of choice was alcohol, which he began at an early age, he also speaks, in great detail about child, and adult drug abuse, domestic violence, addictions, mindset, health, and mental wellness. These are circumstances that Leon dealt with, lived with, and experienced throughout his life, from family, to friends, and into co-workers. A clear, concise, and eloquent speaker, Leon has shared his story to High Schools, Boys and Girls clubs, Churches, Hospitals, Universities, Military Instillations, Alternative schools, Juvenile detention centers, and gang units.
