Gia Winters is no ordinary teenager. As the daughter to a major movie star, her life has always been full of glitz and glamour. But after a traumatic experience leaves her with lingering PTSD, all Gia wants is a fresh start. So she moves to New York City with her police cadet boyfriend to attend New York University, like a "normal" teen. Soon she finds out that she's still the talk of the town, almost 3,000 miles away, and wonders if she'll ever get over what happened to her. Despite a supportive boyfriend, weekly therapy sessions, and a beautiful penthouse for which to escape, Gia struggles with horrible nightmares, and the paparazzi seem to follow her at every turn. To make matters worse, she is forced to meet and befriend the girlfriend of her ex-bodyguard Jack, whom she is secretly hopelessly in love with. When her boyfriend Milo is assigned a case involving a new drug that's being circulated through the college fraternities, self-proclaimed Detective Gia is on the case. But wherever she goes, trouble follows, and it's not long before she finds herself in the middle of a new scandal. Between mysterious frat boys, persistent nightmares, heartbreak, and paparazzi shots, it seems Gia might have just run out of luck.
