Induction Generator wind turbine system uses a fixed speed wind turbine (FSWT) system. Due to highly depend on reactive power, it bears highly to achieve new wind grid code requirements. Induction generator requires high reactive power during network disturbances. Nowadays FACTS (flexible AC transmission system) devices are available in the market for compensation of reactive power of FSWT induction generator during network disturbances. The use of FACTS devices in wind system increase the total budget. So, we have to concentrate on new innovative kind of topology which is cost-effective as well as gives the exact solution to the problem. The new idea is to locate the PMSG near to FSWT induction generator & connect via underground cable at PCC. Variable speed wind turbine (VSWT) - PMSG has the ability to fulfill the requirements of reactive power during network disturbances. So, when there is a fault on the network reactive power requirement of an induction generator is fulfill by VSWT-PMSG to meet wind grid code requirement. Low voltage ride-through (LVRT) or fault ride through the characteristic of FSWT induction generator is analyze using Indian grid code.
