Autorenporträt
Urmaze Naterwalla started his machining journey by working as a machine operator at a very early age. Having acquired advanced degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from The Ohio State University, he steered his research on machining process optimization. Later, while working in aerospace manufacturing, he acquired an MBA from the Oregon Executive MBA program, where he steered his focus to developing machining related research centers. His professional career included experiences with developing & running a technology center at Ingersoll Cutting Tools, team leader of the Machining Solutions group at the Boeing Company, and Head of R&D at the Oregon Manufacturing & Innovation Center. Throughout his career, Urmaze has nurtured his passion of teaching. His teaching experience ranges from tutoring children in math, machining solutions courses at corporations, university classes, apprentice programs, high school joint programs, seminars, and conferences. It is this collective professional experience, combined with teaching background that has led to the evolution of this textbook and its unique teaching approach.
