Thereby the thesis looks at the success factors of the Maoist movement. Why is the Indian state not able to defeat that movement? In order to answer this questions, the thesis refers to political, sociogical theories on power, institutionalisation of power to domination, legitimacy and violence. One observation area is the political framework for the Maoists, namely the Indian state and Strong Men. Another observation are is the organisation of the Naxalite movement as well as its tactics and strategies.The thesis is only available in German
