Autorenporträt
Tamsin Pickeral is a writer who specialises in books in books on art, animals and travel. Alongside her own books she has also been a major contributor to a number of multi-author art reference publications and exhibition catalogues. Her books are published internationally, and have been widely reviewed in leading newspapers and magazines. Anne Ellis (foreword) is an architectural historian with a classical background, having first lectured on classical civilization then architecture and design at Glasgow University. She still does a few lectures every year for the university’s History of Art Department, in between writing articles and reviewing books. For 12 years she was the curator at The Hill House, Helensburgh, designed by Mackintosh, and describes her time there as ‘absolute heaven – like living inside a work of art!’. More recently an interest in broadcasting has developed into a regular slot presenting The Arts Show for Radio Scotland.
