Our transition to a new economic system of organization base on the mechanism of competitive market can be understood and accomplished only within an intensive, continuous, and sustained effort that should include the entire population of the country. This is why, when elaborating this course, we take into account a gradual, concentrated, synthetic presentation of the basic problems of macroeconomy in order to introduce the students into the "modern economist" profile. This is necessary because the study helps the student to perceive not only the existing objective laws and realities, but also the way in which the firms decisions and their managers, together with the governmental policies can contribute to the success of the Romanian economy in the road toward efficiency and performance.
