Why aren't we doing more to save ourselves? Madness on the Brink of Eco-Apocalypse casts a penetrating light on the gravest environmental threats to our survival through the perspective of a deeply informed and passionate eco-worrior. Award-winning author Cheryl Leutjen draws from her experience as a geologist, environmental law attorney, and worried mom to expose the mad-ness of the human-caused destruction of Earth's life support systems. Leutjen's narrative is rich in scientific and factual evidence and masterfully woven with engaging anecdotes and sharp, laugh-out-loud humor, making even the most daunting issues resonate deeply with the reader. She doesn't just describe all the problems-she urges us to band together to challenge the entrenched systems that keep us trapped in a deadly web of plastics, toxic chemicals, and fossil fuels. An essential and entertaining read for anyone concerned about our future. "We've already hit the iceberg . . . Leutjen dares us to be awake and alert as we face this disaster, to understand our part in our global demise. Not for the faint of heart." Davina Kotulski, Ph.D.

Autorenporträt
Cheryl Leutjen's deep love of Earth, as well as her hope for a bright future for her children, fuel her passion for responding to the challenges of our time with heart, hope, humor, and spiritual practice. Cheryl writes to share her experiences about teetering between Earth-mindfulness and eco-madness, not because she's got it all figured out, but in solidarity with anyone else who's fumbling along the path of more conscientious living. She draws from her experience as a geologist, attorney, small business owner, spiritual practitioner, wife and mother to claw her way out of the abyss of eco-despair. She rants to diffuse the furious despair of witnessing the destruction of the natural world tht sustains Life As We Know It. She seeks solace from the sages in Nature who reveal the wisdom she needs to navigate a more Earth-loving path. Her book, Love Earth Now, won a 2018 Silver Nautilus Book Award.
