This work refers to my research in Literature and Social Practices, presented to the Postgraduate Programme in Literature of the Department of Literary Theory and Literatures, of the Institute of Letters of the University of Brasilia in the biennium 2016-2018. The research is linked to the line of Representation in Contemporary Literature, with an axis of interest in Literature and Human Mobility. In this dissertation, I discuss the culture, history and Indian nation represented in The Children of Midnight (1981), an award-winning novel by Indo-British author Salman Rushdie.

I have a Master's degree in Literature from the Postgraduate Programme in Literature of the Institute of Letters of the University of Brasilia, having defended my dissertation on 23.03.2018 with the title: "Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children: magical realism, history and the allegorisation of the Indian nation".
