In Magical Riding, learn the stories, practices, and technical advice that can change the bond between horse and rider into a truly magical experience. An experienced horsewoman, Shelley Groom Trevor looks back at her riding life and sees there was so much more to the equestrian lifestyle than walking, trotting, and cantering around a ring for a ribbon, though that might have seemed important at the time. All the while, Shelley's instincts led her to insights beyond the hope of winning and beyond an ego wounded by losing. Every step of the journey, horses revealed to Shelley just how magical riding could be. In Magical Riding, Shelley recalls the moments where that magic felt tangible and what led her and her horse into that elusive realm. Magical Riding will appeal most to horse lovers who want to deepen the existing friendship with their animals into a bond that seems to transcend reality. With this book, riders can gain a deeper understanding of the harmony that is possible between a horse and rider, and how that bond can help a rider better understand the horse, and herself.
