This book is written with the objective of compiling and comparing all the existing provisions of the law on maintenance and to trace out the lacunae in the statutory provisions and enlist the obstacles hindering the smooth enforcement of the law. Also to study the judicial trend on the subject and to put forth valuable suggestions and juristic opinions for strengthening the law on maintenance and thereby lessening the agony of destitute seeking maintenance allowance.
