Executives have continuously challenged to demonstrate their strategic worth and produce tangible results under trying times for their organizations, but above all they must be able to use the rapid changes in the business environment to produce such results. They need to anticipate changes and set aggressive, forward looking goals in order to gain greater control of their environments and eventually their own destinies. To achieve that, executives have to effectively utilizing all the available resources including the human resources. They have to instill in their subordinates a sense of commitment and the desire to contribute, and then control and coordinate such efforts and lastly reward the achievers. For such critical mission they have to use a program for peak performance and productivity. This program is called the Management by Objectives 'MBO's.
