Autorenporträt
Teri Quick retired in 2014 after a 40-year career in education. She started out as a first grade teacher, then became a reading specialist, then spent the last 30 years of her career at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska teaching reading and serving as the Coordinator of Faculty Development. Reading has always been her passion, and she co-authored Making Reading Relevant in order to provide a textbook that would help students become better readers. She loved using the textbook with her students because she could see how well the premise of the book worked-teach the basic reading skills, and then have students practice using them by providing interesting and relevant reading materials. When students are excited about what they're reading they become better readers! Teri was a long-time member of the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) and served as the President of her local chapter. She also belonged to the National Association for Developmental Education (NADE), and has presented numerous times at conferences for both organizations. She now resides in Florida with her husband, and she enjoys many activities, but she still loves helping people learn how to read better by being a volunteer reading tutor.
