Based on doctoral research at the LSE, this book approaches knowledge creation through an in-depth study of a maintenance department. The book makes sense of knowledge creation processes in an integrated and holistic manner using a theoretical framework which combines Nonaka's Unified Model of Dynamic Knowledge Creation with Von Krogh s Knowledge Activism framework. This process view of knowledge creation allows for the identification of different modes of knowledge creation within the case organisation. Dr Giannaris is a professional manager and a Chartered Engineer. He has an MSc in Chemical Engineering, an MSc in Engineering Business Management (Warwick) and a PhD in Information Systems (LSE). He has held senior-level consulting and managerial positions. He now works at MOU SA supporting the management of EU Structural Funds in Greece.
