The book 'Malabar: an Experience on Male Sociality¿ is addressing the transformation of Male sociality among the Malabar Muslims, in all probability, the oldest Muslim community of the South Asian subcontinent. Thus attempts to provide meaningful information, critical perspectives, and theoretical reflections on the theme of the transformation in forms of male sociality and same-sex intimacy among Malabar Muslim men. The inquiry is to deepen our knowledge on stereotyped issues, and query commences and contributing to rethink the old concepts and analyze the social, cultural, political and economic aspect of the particular theme through the ways of, long-term religious and trade connections between Calicut and the Arabian Peninsula, long-term migration to the Gulf countries, a predominantly male affair ¿ has produced novel forms and spaces of homosociality or male social gathering. The book Problematises hegemonic representations of masculinities and samesex relations in Malabar and the discourse on male sociality, particularly in Calicut, disclose us how and why the so called tag ¿Mecca for homosociality expedition¿ has come up.
