Autorenporträt
Kay Lyons was born in Australia, but has lived half her life in Malaysia. She began her working career as a librarian before becoming a freelance editor and indexer of books on Malaysia. Malaysian Children's Favourite Stories is the first children's book she has written. Martin Loh is a self-taught Singaporean artist well-known for his unique style of Peranakan or naive art. His first exhibition "Naive Images of Days Gone By" in 1992 was a instant success. Martin's father is from Penang, Malaysia, and his naive depictions of everyday life, stemming from his own recollections as a Peranakan-influenced child, as well as memories of old houses and neighborhoods long gone, are widely sought after by local collectors and expatriates. Several of his works are to be found in the Singapore Art Museum.
